Unlike the classic film, this story's ending is a tragic one...

Harry, aged just 29, sadly and unexpectedly passed away at home this week for reasons that are yet to be determined. He leaves behind his loving partner Kate and their pooch, Marley. Harry was a happy and healthy young man with the world at his feet. Tragically, Kate's world and that of Harry's family are now in complete disarray, and the thought of Harry now gone is incomprehensible.

The story of how Harry met Kate starts with a journey of two like-minded and caring souls with a passion for helping others within their community. Both are serving Victorian police officers who met whilst undertaking training together at the police academy in the very same squad. As their romance blossomed the pair became inseparable, and upon graduating, the lovely couple purchased what would be their 'forever' home to eventually start a family.

Harry was very much loved and adored by those whose lives he touched, both personally and professionally. He was a hard-working and dedicated police officer who loved serving his community and helping others. He served diligently, with pride and respect. Wherever Harry went a larger-than-life personality and hilarious laughter would follow. His charismatic and jovial nature would always win you over along with a well-timed (and hilarious) joke.

Harry was not just a funny man though. He was intelligent and a lover of all things extra-terrestrial with a keen admiration for philosophers and physicists such as Stephen Hawking, and was free-spirited in a sense. As a police officer of four years, Harry was in pursuit of large ambitions to join an elite unit within Victoria Police, something which he was destined to do. Unfortunately, this dream, which he came close to achieving, is no longer a reality.

The sad and devastating loss to Kate and Harry's family and his family in blue has sent shockwaves and a flurry of emotions and unanswered questions. As a close personal friend, and on behalf of Harry's blue family, we are desperately seeking your support to cover all related expenses to support Kate and Harry's family in what will understandably be the most difficult time of their lives.

With Kate left to pick up the broken pieces, this is not something anyone could have predicted. Harry was a fit and healthy individual. For those that can empathise, the loss of a family member or friend is a terrible life-altering experience, the pain of which can never subside. Please do not feel obliged to donate, although any amount (small or large) will go a long way. All we ask is that you share this fundraiser on your socials which the blue fam would be forever grateful for. ‍

The organiser for this fundraiser is a close friend of both Harry and Kate and has received permission to manage the fundraiser on behalf of the beneficiary. Funds are expected to cover unforeseen expenses, including, but not limited to estate planning, mortgage administration, covering essentials and funeral and/or memorial-related expenses (i.e. transportation costs for immediate family).
