When Life Tells You It's Time To Ask For Help

Hey everyone, my name is Nicholas Kazonis.

As so many of you know, the last 5 years have left me with a lot of quite intense adversities. From the first vehicle accident that left me out of work and without a vehicle and lots of Physical Therapies for months in February of 2019. To the Crohn's disease diagnosis shortly after that. 2020 Covid shut down my business and industry for months and still certain aspects to this day. 2021 Emergency Appendix removal. 3/31/2023 My home sustained some damage to my roof after the bad storms that piled thru Merrillville. My roof was on the receiving end. To now, just a few weeks ago, being hit at a stop light by ANOTHER intoxicated driver. Leaving me out of work for the foreseeable future.

On June 9th , I was hit by an intoxicated driver who slammed into my brand new Kia Suv I purchased just over a year ago. It left the vehicle totalled and me being taken by ambulance to the ER. I have finally found a dr who has prescribed me more testing and physical therapy to see the fill extent of the physical issues. So far what I know is I have sustained a fracture in my spine , and other pains all over; not even mentioning the mental stress this is causing.

I do not have a definitive date to return to work as of yet. I will be re-evaluated Mid July and get direction then.

Unfortunately, being self employed; it has left me no choice but to ask for help/assitance and inform people where I am currently. So many folks are reaching out wanting to know how to help, what is happening and its extremly appreciated. I took two weeks of intense thinking and self - realization that I can't do it on my own. My immediate family and friends are a God send and have been so helpful with many different aspects of daily life. I am so appreciative.

Summer is the busiest months as a full time musician. Alot of my savings and "bread and butter" come from working long weeks and often times many gigs in a single day during the summer months. These months build up the savings and cushion that allow me to due what I do regularly. I am and will not be able to do that this summer as of now it is looking. Currently I can't play guitar or even sit or stand in one spot for to long as I become very uncomfortable and hope that the therapies will help me heal quicker and fully. I am faithful as always that things will work out how they're supposed to and trust that GOD always finds a way, I have come to realize asking for help is a huge part of that. Pride and not wanting to put anyone else in a "situation" makes asking for help very difficult.

My entire life has been dedicated to healing and love: thru my gift of music, education, philanthropy, and love/care I try my best to give everyone daily. My energy HAS to stay focused on healing and rest so that I can continue to do that. I have realized it's time to allow myself the same grace I show others, to myself.

Any funds that are graciosuly donated to this crowdfunding effort will help me pay for monthly living expenses, copays, and other things that would be normally be covered by my normal gig/work schedule.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, and please excuse any grammer errors or ramblings. You all know I'm not the best at this sort of thing.

I plan to update status on here once a week as things move along. I hope to be back out there doing what I love sooner than later.
