When You Whistle at Night Short Film

Hi, my name is Nolan, and I'm a film student at Ithaca College. For this upcoming fall, I will be the writer and director of my thesis film, 'When You Whistle at Night.' The movie follows Ella, a young journalist, who is brought back to her haunted hometown after the sudden death of her parents, where she commits a supernatural taboo to try and gain some closure. Now, she must either avoid the consequences of her actions or accept them willingly.

This film would not be possible without your contributions. Growing up on the coast of Southern Maine, I've known for a long time that I wanted to make a movie here. With what is likely my final film at Ithaca College, I would love to be able to make this dream a reality. With your contributions, I will be able to provide all the necessary services for my amazing cast and crew to help make this film.

The majority of the cost will be dedicated toward lodging and services (food, water, travel reimbursements) for our crew. About 6% will be attributed to props and equipment, and roughly 8% will be used as contingencies in case of unexpected costs. If there are no unexpected costs or delays, then the contingencies will be used for submitting to film festivals.

If we do not reach our goal, then the funds we receive will first be distributed to services, and then to lodging. If we exceed our goal, then any extra funds will also be used for film festival submissions. Any donors of $20 or more will be included in the credits of the film as a special thanks.

At the moment, all expenses will be paid for out-of-pocket. Our team does intend to apply for the James B. Pendleton grant to help with the costs of production, but we still need your help with producing this movie. I wrote this script last spring, and it has quickly become a reflection of all my work and time at Ithaca College.
