Who was the women on the Slippery Noodle roof?

Donation protected
I'm sure you have heard about the women who was found deceased on the roof of the Slippery Noodle. She was a mother of 3 children, her name was Laura and she was my sister. She struggled with addiction for a good part of her life and had recently been released from a mental hospital to the Ritter House to try to get back on her feet. Today we picked up her belongings and sat together and went through them as a family. Laura didn't leave many possessions on this earth. When we pass, we hope to leave our children set up for life without us. Maybe our cars, homes or money, Laura had none of those things. When her daughter picked up her things all of Laura's worldly possessions fit in the backseat of a car. It wasn't much.

As we were going through her belongings we learned some things about Laura. She had crocheted some of her socks and very well I must say. We found journals and unsent letters to her children, telling them she loved them.
She had painted and drawn artwork of her children's names.

Most recently when she was in the hospital she had made all the children birthday cards with a note on the back. Two of those children birthdays have not happened yet, it is bittersweet that they will have a card from their mother on their next birthday even though she isn't here. Laura didn't have much to her name but she worked with what she had. Watching her children reading her letters to them and getting artwork from their mother brought tears to their eyes. She loved them very much, even though she couldn't take care of them as they were growing up.

I am Laura's sister and am reaching out on behalf of the children to hopefully ease the financial burden of funeral cost. Any amount that you give will give will be a blessing.

Laura struggled most her life with addiction and many times was homeless. I don't want her death to be in vain. So for those of you who choose to help with a gift of $50 or more I would love to send you a homemade glass bead bracelet in honor of Laura.
I ask when you wear it and see someone struggling that you reach out with a kind word, smile or hug. We never know what people are going through.
