While Danielle Heals

Hi, I’m Danielle’s mom, Toni. Danielle is currently in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time. Danielle had abdominal surgery about two months ago and due to complications from that surgery, had emergency abdominal surgeries Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th of October. During the surgery on Tuesday, the surgeon found that Danielle was septic. Danielle’s blood pressure dropped very low during surgery, so she remained intubated over night and was given medication to raise her blood pressure. When it was deemed safe to do so, the surgery was completed the following day. While she is slowly healing, Danielle will remain in the hospital for a while. When Danielle is released she will be using a walker, will need to continue physical therapy, and will not be able to drive until she has recovered.

Danielle’s husband, Jay, has taken time off of work in order to care for her and their three daughters. Due to these circumstances their family is starting to struggle financially. Since Jay will be using disability leave while he is off, their income will be reduced. In addition to the reduction in their household income, they are also dealing with the costs of parking fees at the hospital, gas for getting to and from the hospital at least twice a day, meals for Jay and the girls if they are visiting Danielle all day, the looming costs for the ambulance, medical bills, physical therapy, and medications when Danielle is released. They would also very much appreciate help with meals as Jay tries to take care of all four of his girls.
