Whitney Park Lights

Help us light up Whitney Park!
The saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child," meaning that working together can produce a great result that benefits everyone.
Over the past 4+ years as a neighborhood association, we've been working to upgrade Whitney Park, our neighborhood centerpiece. Through joint efforts with Olde Main Street, the Green Bay Neighborhood Leadership Council, Leadership Green Bay, and area businesses, city officials, committees, and volunteers, we've made great progress towards making the city's oldest park a true gem:
- Multiple summer concerts and events have been held in the park since 2015;
- Leadership Green Bay organized and built a new concert stage in 2016; and
- The "Whitney Bark Park," our off-leash dog exercise area, opened in 2017;
Now, we want to improve the lighting in the park. Our goal is to replace the existing streetlights on wood telephone poles with decorative lighting that matches the decorative street lights along nearby Main Street.
We've already raised over $50,000, and are in the home stretch. With only another $5,000, we can order the lights yet this summer and have them installed this fall.
Can you please help us? Hundreds of people now visit Whitney Park each year for one of the many events, or to use the Bark Park. Just a small donation from everyone could bring us to our goal!
