Whitney's Battle with Endometriosis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Whitney, and I have been battling the effects of Endometriosis since the age of 13. Endometriosis is a chronic medical condition that affects millions of women worldwide, yet its recognition and understanding often lag behind due to its elusive nature and varied symptoms. This disorder occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus, known as endometrial tissue, grows outside the uterus, causing a range of symptoms that can significantly impact a woman's quality of life. Endometriosis is often referred to as the "silent intruder" because its symptoms can masquerade as normal menstrual discomfort, leading to delayed diagnosis and unnecessary suffering. I was officially diagnosed in 2018. I have since had two prior surgeries for relief, however this did not last very long. I have tried medication after medication, with little to no success. I am asking for any assistance that can be provided as I go through the next steps in my treatment journey. Thank you!
