Whittle is getting divorced

Donation protected
On Monday, July 16th, my wife emptied all our joint bank accounts.  She then came home and told me she wanted a divorce. I was stunned.

She asked me to not stay in the house.  I was stunned, and hadn't truly grasped what was happening and agree to do so.  I even sat and printed out tax returns for her.  As I got ready to leave, I told her I was almost without cash.   She gave me $60 and promised more later.

Nothing ever came from her.

The monies she took from the joint accounts included my last two summer paychecks from teaching.  I don't get paid until August 23. I literally will have to borrow money to put gas in my truck soon.

Initially I thought I could represent myself, but it is becoming apparent I am being taken advantage of.  Her lawyer is rushing to get this done before I even know what is happening.

I have spoken to several lawyers. They are generally asking for at least a $5,000 retainer to represent me.  And that has to be a cash payment. My wife has impoverished me so I cannot retain legal counsel.

I hate to have to go this route.  But I do not want to be left with nothing at age 61.  Gardening is what I should be doing right now. I should be getting ready for the new school year to begin. Not creating this.

I must hire a lawyer to protect me .

Thank you so much for anything you can contribute.
