Whitworth High School Charity Day- Depher UK

Donation protected
On Wednesday, 7th December, we will be holding a Charity day at school to raise funds for two purposes. Please donate below if you would like to support our students for the charity day.

Half of the money raised will go to a local charity called Depher cic UK, which is based in Manchester and provides life-saving support for elderly and disabled people who struggle with plumbing, heating, gas, electricity and food, amongst others. The excellent work they do helps people within local communities through the current economic problems.

The other half of the money will allow students within our school to compete in national events such as Trampolining, Football, Handball and Racing. The cost of these events has gone up significantly, which means that some students cannot participate.

The money raised will come from the following:
  • England matches- students have paid £1 to watch the games at school and have bought refreshments.
  • Bake Sale- cakes will be sold at break and lunch on Wed 7th Dec.
  • Penalty Shootout- For two days, years 7 and 8 will take penalties in Whitworth bear for a small cost with a prize for the winner.
  • Hamper Raffle- tickets will be sold with the winner announced on Wed 7th Dec.
  • Spinathon- 3 year 10 students will keep two spinning bikes moving between 7 am and 5 pm.
  • Sweet Jar- students will have to guess the number of sweets in the jar. The closest guess will win the pot.

Please see the below Twitter pages, which show you the work that is done at Depher UK and within Whitworth High PE department.
