Save Our School

The pregnancy test was positive! We were so excited! His First Birthday was amazing. But now his tempers are so bad and they last so long. He isn’t talking yet and he won’t look at anyone. He doesn’t play with his older brother either. Day care keeps sending him home. The pediatrician sent us for tests. The neurologist said he has Autism. I don’t know what to do or where to go. So many therapy appointments and so many new words they say that I don’t understand. My family doesn’t understand. I am late for work again because of the tantrums. Now the day care called. They said he is aggressive and they don’t accept children with Autism. With no where for him to go I can’t work and we can’t survive on one income! We fight all the time now. Everyone stares at the grocery stores and restaurants when he cries. I feel so alone. I don’t know how I can do this. Then, I found Mountaineer’s School of Autism!

THIS is OUR story. The story of being lost, alone and scared. Then finding resources, support and understanding within a school started by a family with a child with Autism who understands the journey.

Autism Awareness Month just ended. However, we NEED Autism Support. We NEED YOU. We are one human race. The children we love, educate and provide therapies for are ALL OF OUR CHILDREN. YOUR CHILD NEEDS YOU.

Mountaineer's School of Autism is currently facing its biggest crisis yet. Our lease for the building and land is coming to an end with no option to continue leasing. We must purchase the building in order to continue to use it. In order to purchase we need to raise enough money for the down payment. This building may be a diamond in the rough, but it is home to us. Please help save our school and our home.
