URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR MANDY AND TYLER

Hi Everyone I have started this Facebook Page as my dear friend in Pambula needs our help urgently.

Mandy Macleod’s much loved 4yo Shetland Sheepdog Tyler, has been diagnosed with gall bladder mucocele (GBM) and acute pancreatitis caused by a blocked bile duct, requiring urgent veterinary intervention.

Last Tuesday Tyler was quite unwell and was taken to the local vet. Tyler was at the vet’s for three days and was deteriorating rapidly. On Friday he was rushed to a specialist emergency vet hospital in Canberra where further tests were done. These tests confirmed that Tyler’s pancreas was highly inflamed. It was also discovered that Tyler has gall bladder mucocoele GBM.

As Tyler was extremely unwell it was decided to medically manage him, over the weekend, hoping that there would be enough improvement, by Monday, for Tyler to undergo surgery.

Thankfully there was very slight improvement to consider surgery, which can only be carried out at the specialist emergency vet hospital in Canberra.

Unfortunately the vet costs are already over $10,000.00.

With further veterinary tests, care and surgery the cost estimation is in the vicinity of $15,000.00 or more.

Life has been very challenging for Mandy for many months with her husband recovering from surgery and not able to work.

Also Mandy is carer for her elderly father and, over the past three months, Mandy’s father has been in hospital in Sydney with Mandy being by his side every day.

Please, I am asking everyone to get behind Tyler to help get the best possible veterinary care so that he can make a good recovery.

Tyler is only 4 years old and has always been in excellent health. This has come as a massive shock to Mandy to see how quickly her darling Tyler has deteriorated.

Mandy sees it an impossible task to cover these veterinary costs.

Gall Bladder Mucocoele is a terrible blight on our breed.
