The Case Against Nuclear Power

Donation protected
The aging nuclear plant on the Columbia River at Hanford, Washington poses a very real risk to the Pacific Northwest.  This project will educate the public about the risks of nuclear power.  The nuclear industry is trying to produce more nuclear waste there, storing it on-site, despite the fact that there is no long-term storage solution.

Nuclear spent fuel is the world's most toxic waste, and they want to make more of it.  Its time to phase out our dependence on nuclear power.

I am developing a much-needed traveling presentation laying out the facts about nuclear reactors and their many health risks. Groups in at least two states will use the show - helping communities all around Washington and Oregon understand the risks and costs nuclear power poses to them.

Imagine this headline: "Hanford's Columbia Generating Station Has Meltdown" :.     Unfortunately, this could come true.

Japan had three meltdowns and massive radiation releases starting in 2011 and continuing today. The nuclear plant on the Columbia uses the same flawed technology and reactor design which failed horribly in Japan.

We cannot afford to keep taking the nuclear gamble.  We cannot build new nuclear plants fast enough to solve global climate change, nor would we be wise to do so.

Your help is very important to this project.  We need to take this case directly to the citizens, the ratepayers.  The first phase of this project will cost $2,000, to create a high quality presentation, get it on the road, and create grassroots support for closing CGS.  Your help will make this project possible.  Thank you.
