Wicker ICE Fundraiser

Donation protected
In conjunction with the Wicker Park Advisory Council who is working in Partnership with the Chicago Park District, Wicker ICE committee, and friends of Wicker ICE, we are thrilled to announce plans to bring a community funded outdoor ice rink to Wicker Park this winter.  Supporters thus far include Ald. Joe Moreno of the 1st Ward, Ald. Brian Hopkins of the 2nd Ward, WPB SSA#33, WPB Chamber of Commerce, and the Chicago Hockey Initiative.  Wicker ICE will be a return to the historical roots of Wicker Park hosting an outdoor ice rink.

Free skating? Check.  Ice Hockey? Check.  Family skate?  Check.  Adult skate?  Check.  Fun had by all?  Check.

The non-refrigerated rink will be installed and maintained in partnership with the Chicago Park District.  It will be a 120 foot long by 60 foot wide rink consisting of 4 foot walls on four sides with two gates.  Our current plan is to have the rink available and open to the public from late December through early March.  There will be planned times for free skating for families, children, and adults as well as designated time for pickup hockey games.

Hours of Operation: 9am - 8pm Daily when Ice is Frozen

Date of Installation:
Saturday, November 28

FIRST DAY of Skating
- When Ice Freezes

Location -
Wicker Park Field near Historic Fountain Court

We are extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring this type of activity to the community!  However, we need YOUR help!  This project is FOR the community BY the community and it will be required to be self-sufficient.  Therefore, we created this campaign in order to raise the funds needed to cover the cost of initially purchasing the rink, boards, and equipment.  In addition, proceeds will also go towards covering expenses related to maintenance, insurance, and supervision.  All donations will go to the Wicker Park Advisory Council, which is a registered 501c3 organization.

Please share this campaign with your friends and family and together we can provide the support needed for all of us to share and enjoy this wonderful winter activity together.  Your donation no matter the size will get us one step closer to making this a reality for the community!
