Widow of John Taylor Gatto Needs Your Help
John Taylor Gatto passed away on October 25, 2018, after being briefly hospitalized.
John leaves behind his devoted wife, Janet, recovering herself from a stroke a couple years ago, and in need of 24 hour support.
John's life work had a positive impact on countless lives, and he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. He courageously continued to work beyond his stroke, which left him paralyzed on one side, bedridden and in need of 24 hour care the last years of his life- the hardest part of his years on this earth, but he did not quit; because he loved people.
John had a Will and an Executor, but the Executor passed away a short time before John unexpectedly entered the hospital, and therefore the Will is now locked up in NY State legal system until a lawyer can resolve the situation for Janet.
Janet has a family attorney they've known and trust, but she does not have the funds to pay him.
Unless she gets John's Will straightened out, Janet won't be able to collect the money Publishers and others owe John (as they are demanding proof that the funds are owed to her), and she won't be able to continue living in the apartment she and John shared in Manhattan. John and Janet have enjoyed their apartment since the 1970's, it's rent controlled, it's not extravagant and it would be wonderful to be able to see Janet not have to move at this point in her life.
This is what John would want us to do, lend a hand in his absence.
Please join us in giving what you can to help, thank you so much!!
