Widowed mother of two becomes victim of theft

Dear community, friends and neighbors,

On February 8th, 2023 a thief broke into my granddaughters storage unit in Santa Ana, CA and stole most of her children’s valuables, and furnishing items that were being stored as they were in the process of moving but we’re waiting for their new home to be ready for move in. The storage unit had their entire home in it.

The storage facility notified Cindy that her unit may have been broken into. However once she arrived and opened the unit, she found it completely ransacked and 60% of her belongings were picked through and left damaged. The facility has said they are not responsible and cannot be liable. A police report has been filed and while the investigation is still ongoing the items are gone and there will be no reimbursement for any of the possessions she lost as she did not have insurance.

Over 5,000 dollars worth of home items were stolen, the kids deceased fathers items that were of sentimental value to my granddaughter, including unopened christmas gifts, brand new kitchen appliances waiting to be used at their new home. Nothing can replace the sentimental items stolen but several have asked how they can help so we are creating this go fund me in hopes of relieving some of the financial burden on Cindy.
