Wife (31), and Mother of Two, Terminal Cancer
Donation protected
Kathryn is a 31 year old, mother of two boys, that are 6, and 4. She is also a wife of 10 years. Kathryn lost her father when she was 8 years old, and then lost her mother in 2013. No one deserves the battles that have been thrown at her, but she faced them head on. During her second pregnancy in 2018, she began to experience symptoms that were put off as "just pregnancy," after she had Connor, she continued to experience symptoms, and complained numerous times to her OBGYN, who wrote script, after script of antibiotics, instead of investigating further into the symptoms that Kathryn was experiencing. In October of 2019, Kathryn was diagnosed with Stage 4, Cervical Cancer. Her children were only 2 1/2, and 7 months old at the time of her diagnosis. Kathryn fought hard doing radiation, and chemotherapy, and also undergoing many hospital stays, due to acute kidney failure, and collapsing ureters. She had stints placed, and replaced in her kidneys over 6 times. The problems she was experiencing were caused by the radiation, and chemotherapy that she had to go through to try, and save her life. After what felt like a lifetime, the time to celebrate was finally here, Kathryn had finally made it into remission, and had kicked cancer's butt! But, unfortunately, that was only temporary. Kathryn was re-diagnosed in February of 2022, only one short year into remission. The cancer had already spread further than the original diagnosis location. Soon after being diagnosed, her ureters completely collapsed, and a nephrostomy was put in place of her bladder. That was just the start of her new battles ahead. Kathryn then had to tackle another surgery just a few months later, to place a colostomy, due to a fistula on her large intestine. While Kathryn was in surgery getting her large intestine repaired, and her colostomy placed, the doctors found a large mass that had to be removed. The oncologist, and all involved specialists decided chemotherapy, and radiation were not helping, and that the cancer was still spreading at a rapid rate. At that/this point, the only thing doctors, or anyone can do, is treat symptoms, pain, and make frequent stays in the hospital for fluids, and electrolytes. Kathryn is weighing 69 pounds, and as of March 22nd, she, along with her family, have decided hospice, with palitive care, is the best plan of action to keep her comfortable, until she can no longer fight this fight. Kathryn is no longer ambulatory, and has constant care provided. She has no life insurance, and is leaving behind her two children Carson, and Connor, and her beloved husband Dillon when she leaves this world. We are asking for any help, whether you can monetarily help, or not, please share her story, and her page. Anyone that knows Kathryn, knows how amazing she is, she lights up a room, and can make anyone laugh with her contagious personality. She is an absolute soldier, who is fighting until the end.
