Hi, we’re Elana and Seth—co-creators of Wild Despair, a film, dance performance, and guided experience created to spark vulnerable dialogue and give participants permission to embrace their grief as a pathway to healing and belonging.
Polarization, the mental health epidemic, our ecological crisis, and spiraling conflicts—both in our own homes and around the world—have compelled us to create Wild Despair.
At its heart, Wild Despair is medicinal media and embodied art that invites us to feel deeply and step into courageous, vulnerable dialogue about the most pressing issues of our time, with the hope of transforming our sense of separateness into a sacred, shared connection.
Why We Need Your Help
To date, we’ve self-funded the creation of Wild Despair, but now we’re seeking your support to:
- Cover production costs of the film, refine the live performance and begin work on an online course—helping compensate the artists and collaborators who have brought Wild Despair to life.
- Equip us to share this powerful project by covering submission fees, travel costs, and supporting materials for film festivals, forums, and gatherings that are tackling today’s greatest challenges.
Wild Despair reminds us that social change begins within: by feeling and healing ourselves, we can show up more fully in service to repairing the living world.
Join Us on This Journey
Your support will not only help us complete this project but will also bring its message to the people and places where it’s needed most. Together, we can inspire healing, connection, and active hope for the future.
If you’re able to contribute $250 or more, we would be honored to add your name to the ‘Special Thanks’ section of the film credits before it is submitted to festivals. Any amount of your generosity goes a long way!
