Wildlife Expedition, Costa Rica

Donation protected
Hi, this is Jack, James & Zach. We’re fundraising for a 14-day expedition in Costa Rica. With your support, through this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, we hope to gain invaluable hands-on experience in wildlife conservation and culture, including a truly immersive jungle experience, looking at conservation, sustainability, and biodiversity, we’ll have the chance to venture where the rainforest meets the sea and discover all things tropical. Plus, we’ll further our knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals that align with this project, as well as gain a deeper understanding of our own social and environmental impact.

Here’s a little about us….

Jack Bullock
Hi, my name is Jack, and I currently study zoology at Moulton College and am working towards a BSc(Hons) Applied Zoology. I love to work with and study all sorts of animal species, however, I sway more to primates after doing some work experience in a zoo and getting to see more behind the scenes. Alongside this, I also have a passion for conservation work and love to see the efforts put in place to keep declining species safe. This is why this trip to Costa Rica means so much to me as it would be a real eye-opener and would help further my knowledge in the field of conservation whilst also allowing me to explore and see the rich ecosystem Costa Rica has to offer.

James Wheeler
Hi, my name is James and I'm currently interested in all sorts of animals, from various invertebrates to the most complex of mammals however by far my biggest interest is in the birds. In the future I hope to become a conservationist, preferably of birds, helping to prevent species extinctions and gaining knowledge on important ecological roles of species. This trip to Costa Rica will help me broaden my perspective of a complex and species habitat, while also potentially assisting in conservation and my understanding of a huge range of bird species native to the tropics.

Zach Dear
My name is Zach and I am currently in my 3rd year for a BSc degree in Zoology. Next year, a group of us have been invited to do conservation work in Costa Rica. This includes tasks such as helping rebuild the forest by planting saplings and working in a turtle hatchery. In the future, I am interested in working in conservation work so this would be an amazing opportunity. Wildlife conservation work has always been important to me as I find protecting wildlife and their habitats important. I have a particular interest in more exotic species and going to Costa Rica would open opportunities to gain valuable experience working with these animals in a native environment.

As part of our fundraising campaign, we are planning to climb Mount Snowdon together on the 7th of November. We will post progress pictures of our climb on this page.

With the funds we hope to raise, we aim to use this to purchase essential equipment & kit for the trip.

Thank you so much for your support! We are so grateful
