Eagle Scout Candidate Miles Smith, a dedicated member of Troop 6 in Sellersburg, Indiana, is embarking on a mission to enhance the local community by spearheading the construction of a stage in Wilkerson Park, the Town of Sellersburg’s most centrally located park. With a vision to enrich the town's cultural landscape and provide a platform for artistic expression, Miles is calling upon the community for their generous support to turn this dream into a reality.
Wilkerson Park has long been a focal point for community gatherings, hosting everything from outdoor concerts to street fairs and Memorial Day Services. However, the lack of a proper stage has been a limiting factor in fully realizing the park's potential as a venue for diverse cultural events. Recognizing this need, Miles has taken up the challenge to construct a stage that will not only enhance the park's functionality but also contribute to the vibrancy of Sellersburg's arts scene.
"Miles’ initiative exemplifies the spirit of leadership and service that is central to the Boy Scouts of America," remarked Dean Bottorff, Scoutmaster of Troop 6. "His dedication to improving our community and fostering a greater appreciation for the arts is truly commendable. We urge everyone to rally behind Miles and support his efforts to build a stage that will benefit Sellersburg for years to come."
With your support, Miles Smith and Troop 6 aim to create a gathering space that will not only host concerts and events but also serve as a catalyst for community engagement and cultural enrichment. Together, we can make Wilkerson Park a cornerstone of Sellersburg's cultural identity.
