Will Waddell Kidney Transplant

Hello, my name is Ashley Wadell Ponder and I am fundraising for my nephew Will Waddell who is diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. Will Waddell is a 17-year-old senior at Boiling Springs High School in South Carolina. Will is very active in his school serving on the student council and also playing on the varsity golf team. Will plans to attend SMC this fall to continue to play golf. Will is the son of Todd and Jen Waddell. Will was adopted from Guatemala when he was 1 year old and brought to his forever home. 10 years ago Todd and Jen were informed by doctors of some irregularities in Will's blood work. They were told then that Will had Chronic Kidney disease. Over the past 10 years he has been treated as his kidney's health has slowly declined. This past January Will's kidney function had declined to the point that he was referred to Lavine's Children's Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. to discuss having a kidney transplant. Recently Will was added to the UNOS registry and is currently looking for a Living Donor that will donate a kidney to Will so he may continue to live a normal life. We are raising funds for Will and his family to offset the cost involved with the transplant surgery and the many hospital and doctor visits involved with the transplant. Also the anti-rejection medication, he will be required to take for the rest of his life will be quite expensive.
