Willard Family House Fire

- Kim and Charlie Willard were raised in Queen Annes County, graduated from Queen Annes County High School and chose to raise their family on Kent Island. The Willards have three adult children, Alec, Kaitlyn & Caroline. All three kids currently reside locally. As members of the community, the Willards were actively involved in Christ Church and owned a local meat, poultry and seafood business, Market by the Bay. Growing up, all three kids were involved in sports, dance, boy scouts and much more. As long-time members of the community, they realize it takes a village. Yesterday, their family home was taken in a devastating house fire. The family lost everything. Kim and Charlie have already been offered a place to live but need the help of our community to furnish the house and buy all the household necessities that they will need. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

"Twenty-five years spent making a house, a home and in the blink of an eye, it was all gone. Our family is at a complete loss for words and absolutely heartbroken. Our childhood home and everything in it, burned to the ground in a tragic house fire yesterday. We are sorting through so many emotions and are in complete and utter shock. I can speak on behalf of my entire family and say that we so appreciate the kind words and outreach from the community, our family & our friends. It is times like these that make you appreciate living in a small town. To all the volunteers and fire companies who worked tirelessly to try to save our home, we can not thank you enough. It’s because of you that we were able to recover a few items that are invaluable to our family. Beyond the few items, my parents lost everything. Their blood sweat and tears went into that house, seeing it burn down was the most horrific and nauseating site. We are beyond thankful that everyone walked away from this including the fur babies, but damn if it didn’t hurt to watch unfold. Hold your loved ones tight, tomorrow isn’t promised."
