Willesden Trades Hall Revival

Willesden Trades Hall and Apollo Club
Our target is £5000
We were delighted when the National Lottery Heritage Fund offered us an award to fund a Resilience Project for the Willesden Trades Hall. This would enable us, amongst other things, to safeguard the heritage of the building, consult both legacy and new communities on the future of the building, address emergency building works, and consult an architect. However, like many community-focused companies, we must cover many administrative expenses, including insurance, electricity and legal fees. So, we now need £5,000.
For over a century, our hall has served a multi-racial community in a deprived area of the London Borough of Brent - Church End and Harlesden.
The Willesden Trades Hall was established by the Brent labour movement in 1922, so we have a wonderful colourful and vibrant hall, a venue with a rich heritage and history, for birthday parties, community celebrations, meetings, entertainment and workshops.
It was a base for Sylvia Pankhurst, for Nelson Mandela, the Hunger Marchers, the Grunwick strikers and the Miners.
The Apollo Club is also a famous reggae venue launched by Bob Marley and where many famous reggae stars performed on its stage.
We are requesting your help with the re-opening our famous building.
Please donate generously to our crowdfunder.
