William and Karen Vanover Medical Emergency

I'm Williams cousin. I am raising funds for them because of a medical emergency. Bill is a part-time Fire Fighter and Mechanic, Karen a stay at home parent. They are a wonderful first responder family with three little kids, and could use some help to cover expenses from this emergency.

Karen fell very ill recently. She spent several weeks in the ICU in Coldwater. She was fighting for her life. The mom of 3 had to under go a partial amputation of her foot. Bill has been off work taking care of the children and Karen. She is a fighter!

She was able to return home briefly, during that week Bill was administering iv antibiotics every 8 hours. They both were hopeful this was going to result in her health being restored. Karen has been unbelievably brave and is fighting to get well.

Unfortunately a complication resulted in her being admitted to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. During her stay they have learned that the infection was far worse and she now faces a below the knee amputation. She is still to sick to get the surgery. They have released her home again on Iv antibiotics every 6 hours for the next month or two. Then another amputation will take place. The emotional and economic hardship has been immense. Bill is continuing to care for his wife and will be off work for the next several months. This has been a time of unbelievable challenge for them if your able to help it would mean the world to them.
