William Conrad Family Fund

Hi Everyone,

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of my older brother, William Joseph Conrad, on July 13th. Will was involved in a tragic ATV accident near his camp, resulting in severe trauma to his body. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. Will was cherished as a brother, a son among nine siblings, and eagerly anticipated fatherhood. We are heartbroken by his loss.

I recall how happy William was when he found out he would be a father. So ecstatic he drove to the farm, picked our mum up with his signature hug, and spun her around to tell her she was going to be a grandmother to his child. We rested that night, assured he was going to be a devoted and loving father.

Anyone fortunate enough to meet my brother was graced with his kind, compassionate heart. He had many friends he kept in touch with and a great sense of humor to complement it. Will was so talented at his craft and was passionate about his work. He never asked for help, but always gave a helping hand.

In his final months, Will dedicated himself tirelessly to supporting his growing family, constructing a home, and developing a camp as a future endeavor. We are seeking donations to support his partner, Kyla, in preparing for the arrival of their baby and starting a fund for their future. Your contributions, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference, and we are immensely grateful for the support of our family and community. Any stories or memories that you would like to share in regards to William that may be passed down to his children are also deeply appreciated.

When I worked with Will last summer doing exterior work, I sliced my hand and ended up passing out from the amount of blood and hit the ground. When I came to, Will was holding me, comforting me, saying ‘everything is fine’ and I was going to be ‘all right’ - which I will never forget. Receiving that phone call, it broke my heart to know I could not have been there to comfort my big brother in his last moments.

The absolute minimum we can do is provide for his family and ensure his boy will be as loved as he was.

Disclaimer: We had to set an amount to achieve. We did not want to set a goal - any donations received, we are truly grateful for.

Thank you.

“Travelling, travelling: to see Kings Ludwig, Nicholas, Zanthas, Damon, Farron, Burl, and Swane. Travelling, travelling: to castles of red sand, hewn of blue trees, formed of fire, shaped of sculpted clouds. Travelling, travelling, with planets and stars beyond and invitation books open to a single name. The solitary traveller has left this world. He may not pass this way again.”
