William Loken's cancer journey

Hi, my name is Robin and we are raising money to help our brother with his journey in fighting gastrointestinal cancer. The cancer is stage four and causes internal bleeding which has caused him to need multiple blood transfusions. His blood counts have dropped to dangerous levels (4.2 and below at times). Due to his constantly dropping blood levels and other painful effects of the cancer, he is no longer able to work. He has had surgeries and biopsies and is finally on a medication that seems to be helping to slow the progression of the cancer. As much as he would like to return to work the side effects of the medication and unpredictability of his internal bleeding will not allow for it. The test results show that the cancer is terminal and inoperable. However, he has been able to find a more balanced mindset through this medical and emotional journey and that has been a blessing.

William (aka; Bill/ Buddy) has spent his life working, driving semi-truck. That has been his identity and purpose in life. He has two dogs that he loves dearly and spends as much time as he can with them now. He worries that he will not be able to care for them without his income source. When he is feeling well enough, he tries to stay in contact with his family and friends. He also worries that he will lose his pick-up truck, which is his mode of transportation to medical appointments.

Our hope is that we can reduce his financial stress and support him through this journey. We believe that grace is spread through small acts of kindness that lighten someone’s load. We are grateful for anything you can contribute to support our brother in his journey.
