Hello friends and family I have created this GoFundMe to raise funds to help with my dads funeral expenses and whatever else may take place. As some of you know he has been battling Muscular Dystrophy for years. A few months back it had gotten the best of him and took over his respiratory system which caused him to have a heart attack and he went into cardiac arrest for over 20 mins. Well the doctors at Regional Medical Center took good care of my father as they were able to preform CPR and get him back again. However he was unstable for a while. He ended up having to have a tracheostomy placed to help his respiratory system heal and recover. My dad made it through a miracle a few weeks later and was able to leave the ICU and go to the step down floor for recovery where he continued to improve. He then went to rehabilitation center to learn how to eat and drink and talk with his trach in where he did really good. So good he was able to go home. Well the last come of weeks he was in an out of the hospital after going back home. One of his lungs kept collapsing because it wasn’t getting the exercise it needed to pump itself back up. They went in and did a procedure where they cleaned his lungs out and things were looking better so they moved him to another rehabilitation center on Monday to get him help with exercising that lung to prevent the collapsing from happening again. Well yesterday he was not eating nor drinking and very tired didn’t want to talk just slept mostly. Doctors called my step mom this morning and told her that my dad had complications breathing last night and he didn’t make it. My dad was living off his little bit of disability he had and had no life insurance to prepare for a time like this. I personally have never experienced the death of a parent and I was not physically prepared so soon. So we are asking friends and family to share our story and help us with anything to cover my dads funeral expenses. Anything is appreciated.
