Hello! We are reaching out to our friends in Brooklyn and around the world for help. You may or may not know our favorite music guru, favorite neighborhood bartender, and loyal friend, William Travis. He continues his 2nd battle with cancer.
At this stage, it has become terminal, and it is important William focuses on getting rest, spending time with family and friends, and that he continues to build mind bending playlists. The following is from William on the details of his current condition:
“In 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Early treatments were successful in slowing the progress of the disease. However, in June 2018, it was revealed the cancer had returned and had spread to the bones. The bone marrow produces red blood cells, and with the bone marrow compromised, anemia set in and the cancer became difficult to treat.
After two unsuccessful treatments, it was revealed that the cancer had progressed rapidly and the prognosis of the condition was terminal as of February 2019. I have been given 6-12 months to live. I will be undergoing further treatment but that is mainly to give me a few more months. In this time, I will become weaker and unable to take care of simple things and will move to an assisted living facility, which is costly.”
The situation is rather serious, and he does not have time to waste. William has given us all so much in the past, and we would greatly appreciate anything you can give to this campaign. Even $5, a cup of coffee in Brooklyn, would help.
In tough times we all need someone to lean on, and we are confident he will get by with a little help from his and our friends.
In the case that he passes before the money is spent, the money will be donated to his teenage daughter, Onalee.
