William's cancer relapse battle
Donation protected
Back on the 26/08/2020, William was diagnosed with a childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma after a scan found a large 12x8cm mass on his adrenal gland on his right kidney. William was uplifted from his school and hometown to stay in Sydney's Westmead childrens hospital. William underwent 3 rounds of chemotherapy and became severely sick as it caused him to battled neutropenic colitis.
Further scans found that William’s cancer wasn’t responding to treatment and a plan to remove the cancer was made. Days before Christmas, by a stroke of luck, surgeons managed to remove all of his tumour. He spent his Christmas day in the intensive care unit where no child should have to be.
William had 2 more rounds of chemotherapy and 14 sessions of radiation and was declared cancer free. He repeated his school grade as he missed alot of schooling, he has made new friends, the family have welcomed a new baby, and life was finally looking up for little William.
However just now of May 2022, with absolute devastation and heartbreak, we share that William has relapsed.
A tumor on Williams kidney has been confirmed and he will be sent back to Sydney children's hospital for further testings to find out if there are other places in his body it has spread.
Now the family have to go through this ordeal all over again, this time with a fourth extra baby to support too. Dad will have to take unpaid leave from work, the rent and bills will continue on very little income, and the future is unknown.
The family have been warned that the cancer may not respond to treatment, and that Williams battle will probably be harsher and harder than last time.
To ease the family of financial stress and make each day that bit easier to pay for food in hospital, fuel, bills, rent, and to support the rest of their children that also have to uplift in this devastating time, I am asking for any donations that are all so very appreciated.
While we as outsiders feel helpless and can't do alot to support the family, this is the biggest and best way we can support them and help them through this journey once again. Any donations made go directly to Williams mum to put where they need. Thankyou for reading.
