Williamsport's Odyssey of the Mind
The Williamsport Area School District is sending two Odyssey of the Mind teams to the World Finals in East Lansing, Michigan from May 24-27, 2017!
The creative and talented students on the teams from Williamsport Area High School and Andrew G. Curtin Intermediate School need your help to raise the money to get there!
The teams have been working very hard for months to solve their problems with the best solutions they can create, embodying the Odyssey of the Mind spirit. Along the way, the students are developing skills in creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving that will last them a lifetime.
To get to Worlds, the high school team earned first place on March 4th, 2017 in the North Central region of Pennsylvania and second place at the PA state finals on April 1, 2017.
The Curtin team’s path to the World Finals included a first place finish at regionals and a first place finish in the state finals.
The teams’ success is testament to a strong and growing Odyssey of the Mind program in the Williamsport Area School District. Their invitations to World Finals means that for the third year in a row WASD will be represented alongside over 800 teams from 36 states and over 25 other countries!
It turns out that getting to Worlds costs a lot of money. We need to raise a total of around $35,000 to get the kids, their coaches, their props, and their cheering section (i.e. supportive families) to East Lansing. Please help in any way that you can to help these amazing kids have an experience that they will never forget!
