Willow's Dental Care Fund (Rescue)
Donation protected
I adopted in a new mare about a month ago. This mare is named Willow. She went through a very rough start to her life: malnurished for her first two years of life, blind in her left eye and only 20% vision in her right eye, she has an ulcer in her uterus, and her teeth seem to have been likely never floated.
I had her first full dental examination this evening, and found out things were worse than we imagined. It turns out that she has a very painful situation in her mouth. One of my beautiful mare's molar teeth is completely fractured (all the way down to under the gum-line). She is in pain from this, and it is unknown how long it has been fractured like this. Unfortunately, I was quoted at least $1,000.00 to have this situation fully fixed and have her pain controlled. The veterinary clinic has to take multiple x-rays, needs to carefully extract the two teeth parts, they need to make sure no infection settles in, sedation drugs need to be given, and a specialist needs to be brought in to remove this tooth properly.
I wouldn't normally ask for help, but I rescued this mare to give her a real chance to be her full potential. I have updated her coggins, boostered her vaccinations, dewormed her, had her hooves trimmed up, and I have also had other smaller concerns addressed by my veterinarian. I just had her teeth floated (filed and made less painful) this evening, and they were years past due for care.
Please help me out in any way that you can! This beautiful mare deserves to have this painful tooth removed ASAP, and my funds are limited since I just graduated college and my two mares have been getting the best care I can offer them.
Anything you can donate to this beautiful rescue mare will be more than appreciated!
Thank you so much for your time and help!
