Willy Rookard

Because Willy is loved by so many people, we want to share about a nightmare that happened on Sunday, June 26th on the 2nd day of vacation in Mexico.  Willy, his wife Christy, daughter Alexis and a family friend were walking back to their resort after a fun night out with family and friends.  A car with two men drove up slowly beside them with the window down asking where they were going, after ignoring them the men drove away only to return two more times. The third time they came by they said something to Willy, possibly something directed at Christy and their daughter.   This upset Willy and he walked over to ask them to go away.  At that time his arms were accosted inside the passenger side window, the car then drove off increasing in speed while dragging Willy along the road.  At a high rate of speed the men dropped him onto the pavement and drove away. Willy was medivaced to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he is recovering from a brain injury.  
     This fund raiser is being managed by Christy's friends and co-workers.  As you can imagine the international medivac and cost of medical expenses in Mexico are mounting.  Funds will be used for medical, travel and accommodation costs for the family while Willy is recovering in San Diego.
