Wilson Benavides Eagle Project

Hello, my name is Wilson Benavides and I am a Boy Scout in Troop 151 in Georgetown, Texas. I am working on obtaining my Eagle Scout Rank, and have been organizing my project for almost two years.

My project is putting in a commemorative plaque and garden at Southwestern University commemorating the V-12 Naval and Marine Program. The V-12 Naval and Marine Program trained 783 men and women who served in the Armed Forces, and some of which gave the ultimate sacrifice for out country. I believe that it is imperative that we honor and commemorate all veterans, from peace or war, or dead or alive. So when I heard about the V-12 Program, I researched it extensively, and decided to make it my project to commemorate the V-12 Program and its participants.

After getting my project approved by Scouting, past President of Southwestern University, Dr. Burger, and current President Dr. Trombley, I set about finding a location for the memorial, sponsors, money, and a company to make the plaque. some of these are still in the works, and will be till my project is finished.

I have created an account specifically for this project, and have a separate credit card for the project. Additionally, if there are any reserve funds after the project, the excess funds will be donated to a veterans organization.
