Wilton spiritualist church needs repairs

We have a very rare and beautiful Spiritualist Church nr Kingsway in Wilton on the A36.

The Chapel of light is a Pugin neo Classical Gothic design. The architecture is beautiful.

As a committee we have had to make a decision regarding whether we can continue serving Spirit and our Community or close our Church where many come to seek comfort, light, and truth.

Sadly there is much that is in disrepair and very little help from the SNU.

The Church Roof needs to be properly repaired inside and out as we are experiencing leaks, the growth of Ivy from outside to inside, lack of insulation and any warmth created escapes quickly.

There is rising damp which has caused the interior walls to become crumbled in places throughout our beautiful building, and the paintwork is bubbled and peeling.

Due to the damp the flooring is in need of replacement as it to is damp and the smell in places is pungent.

Our kitchen needs to be modernised so that we can hold coffee mornings and other events.

Our toilets need to be modernised again new flooring is needed the walls are an issue throughout.

There is a need for new chairs as some of them have become damaged and uncomfortable to sit on especially for those with back issues.

Our electrics also need some work as the copper wiring has become damp as everything else.

Despite all of the issues we continue to serve Spirit with our Sunday Services and Mediumship events. We have a Circle where we are able to teach, grow, and learn about Spiritualism and how to use our natural gifts.

We maintain a congregation every week without fail.

We need your help to repair our Church and remain open for a long time to come.

As a committee we volunteer our time to keep the church running and until now we've remained silent about our needs, only wishing to fulfil the needs of others.
