Win Naing perished from CA wildfire
Donation protected
*Please note*
Our dear brother, son, and friend passed away yesterday afternoon after a 6 week struggle. Therefore this fundraiser is now dedicated to his final expenses with funds above that to be donated in Win's memory to the burn center at the UC Davis medical center.
OnTuesday, September 8th, Win Naing suffered a life-altering tragedy at his home in Berry Creek, CA. The rapidly advancing North Complex wildfire (which, at times, burned at a rate of 1000 acres per 30 minutes), overtook Win at his home while he was preparing to evacuate.
Because of the speed of the fire, he was unsuccessful in leaving uninjured and suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 45% of his body, as well as smoke inhalation injuries. He managed to climb into his truck to find the nearest firefighters, who managed to evacuate him. He was ultimately airlifted to the UC Davis Firefighters Burn Center in Sacramento , where he is currently recovering. He is in critical, but stable, condition, with burns and pneumonia, and faces a long road to recovery, with several surgeries ahead.
Doctors estimate about 1 1/2 months in the hospital will be needed for surgeries and recovery, followed by months (if not years) of physical therapy.
In addition to his critical injuries, Win lost everything in the fire, including his home, and sadly, his two beloved dogs.
Any donation you make will help towards Win's medical expenses and his recovery. No donation is too small and every penny is greatly appreciated.
Please keep the victims of the wildfires in your thoughts.
Thank you.
