We did it!
Wind of Change - Art Installation at Burning Man 2022
Hello to all those who made the miracle we dreamed of happening.
We took a long time to come to our senses, sorted out the tasks to complete the project, and tried to get the rest of the installation from China / still no, but we hope /.
Returning each time from the desert, you still long to come to yourself and ask: did it really happen? Or was it all just a dream?
And then a heap of changes and new processes rushes into your life and throws you off your usual rituals and movements. It's sudden, it's intense, and you can never be ready for it.
I've been putting off writing this letter for a long time, but right now I know it's the time! And the gratitude I've been feeling all this time - it has to get to the recipient.
Our project turned out exactly as we planned. Filled with tenderness, lightness, and beauty.
A little space garden for us.
Our little oasis in the desert glinted all over the playa and beckoned.
This year the conditions were absolutely incredible in their complexity - a lot of dust, a lot of winds. It affected our art a lot and by Wednesday it was already covered in a layer of dust. But even in spite of this, it cheered and sustained those who came into contact with it.
I got a thousand responses from people who listened to it and interacted with our project. And still, I meet those who recognize us in this project and say that they remember it " I sat and looked at it all morning and thought about something of my own. For me it was ..... "
And many variations of stories that touched my heart.
It all happened because of you. And without you, there wouldn't be all the magic of hope that we gave to all the people of Black Rock City.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude. It's something that has filled me since day one when we started getting your support and seeing you share our project on social media.
It's an unbelievable miracle of teamwork that allows us to create something truly incredible.
Seeing it, touching it, and being in touch with it is true happiness. And I thank each of you for this wonderful experience.
What will happen next?
Well, first of all, I would like to give everyone who wants a little surprise from us this gift.

Secondly, we have a part of the installation left in China and we want to build it for a month in New York. It is a more complicated project, but we are not afraid of anything anymore.
If you want to support us or just find out the details of this project - also let us know by email or Facebook
I will give you the details of the project and be happy to just be in contact, with all those who have been with us all this time.
A big hug and thanks again.
It's an incredible blessing to know that so many people want to believe in that better and brighter future.
With much gratitude in my heart,
Eva Lillova and People of Wind.
The art project we’re building is meant to remind us all that no matter what, it’s in our hands to create the kind of future we want to live in. We still have much more to raise and cannot build this meaningful installation without your generous support!
This year on August 20th, our team will arrive at Black Rock City to start implementing our Installation- "Wind Of Change"
Prefabrication of the project has already finished and got delivered to Reno, Nevada
Your financial support will help us to get the project done on time with decent quality.
Crowdfunding Goal:
We seek to raise $5,000 (of the total $25,000 needed) through crowdfunding.
Help us to create a unique experience!
"Wind of Change" represents the flow of life and how life continues no matter what. Our art space consists of 400 unique windmills that allow visitors to contemplate and meditate on the invisible earth force.
Meaning:
Our original art idea had an emphasis on liberation from all the burdens the past few years had put on us. We still believe that art has the power to open hearts, to provide a place amidst a windy desert where we can express our feelings or maybe just contemplate the power of movement that we visualize through spinning windmills.
We still believe that art has the power to open hearts, to provide a place amidst a windy desert where we can express our feelings or maybe just contemplate the power that we visualize through spinning windmills.
Depending on the wind speed and its direction, the "act of change" or windmill spinning will appear. Some will stop, and some will spin like crazy... Some of them might get even broken, creating a metaphor for people surrounding us in daily life. However, resistant to the harsh conditions of the desert - we believe that our mills, like all of us, after these difficult years - will definitely stand and celebrate life, no matter what.
Who we are:
We’re the Wind People - a team of architects and creative people with very different life stories and backgrounds but there is something uniting us all – our Eastern European/ Slavic roots. Although we’ve lived in the USA for a long time, the connection to our native lands is something we will always have.
We think that we all should speak up loudly. We should speak up via that we chose, considering the “new normal future” with all Injustice and inequality that we all are experiencing now.
We chose light and beautiful construction which brings all the positive energy through the Wind - to change the world and make it a bit better.
Details:
There are 400 windmills of different sizes involved in the project.
Every mill will have a solar battery to light it up during Black Rock City nights and to create a cosmic experience in the nighttime as well as during days, making our installation sustainable.
We cannot do this without you!
Please consider different ways to help our project:
