Winstons Needs Urgent Surgery

This is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. Anyone who knows me well can tell you it isn’t in my nature to ask for help, but I am absolutely desperate.

My beautiful French Bulldog (fur baby) Winston is currently in a vet hospital receiving continuous vet care and needs surgery ASAP. Winston has a suspected IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) in his neck.. worst case a Tumour. IVDD occurs when the cushioning discs between the vertebrae of the spinal column either bulge or burst into the spinal cord space. These disc issues can lead to pain, nerve damage, and even paralysis. He is in an incredible amount of pain, that isn’t manageable at home. The vets have told me the surgery holds a fantastic prognosis and he will recover well.

The bad news is the cost of it all, including the continuous care he’s needed up until now along with the surgery cost, totalling to 15 grand. They cannot operate until I have the funds available and keeping him there to just manage the pain until then is depleting financially.

He is everything to me. The last 3 years, he has been by my side, saved me many times from the most darkest days of my life. He has given me a reason to get out of bed, and feel the sun on my skin again as we walk together. He kept me going when I thought I couldn’t and to stay connected to people when I felt I couldn’t.

He has the strongest little shoulders, he loved me at my worst and celebrated with me at my best.

The thought of having to put euthanise or surrender him because I’m struggling to get the funds together is soul destroying.

Giving up on him, is not an option. Please if at all possible, help me to get the medical care Winston needs to get better. I will be grateful the rest of my life.
