Winter Bail Out for Benji

You've probably read that all across the US, shelters are full. That and suddenly frigid weather means I'm getting calls for kittens and cats who just can't stay outside until someone has space for them. We currently have 16 cats and kittens looking for homes, a low inventory of traps due to many being lost after being lent to people in need, and today I picked up a cat we're calling 'Benji,' -- a big orange tomcat who has been making his way on his own with a broken leg for three weeks now. We've had to say 'no' to so many people this winter, and we just couldn't turn away the woman who called about him, especially when we woke up to 6" of snow and frigid temperatures. He'll be off to have his leg amputated, while we look for his original (or a new) owner. I'll post video of him in the updates.

I have to expect the rest of the winter will be going the same way, and honestly, I'm flat out of funds. I'm doing a big adoption push, but while the kittens are all ready to go (fixed, vaccinated and microchipped!), the older cats will need pre-adoption vet visits, traps need to be replaced, and of course, everyone needs to eat! I
