Winter is Coming: Support Kharkiv's Urgent Winter Needs

Tax deductible
My name is Ian Yang, and five years ago, I experienced something that changed my life forever – the incredible warmth and unbreakable spirit of Kharkiv's people. As a Korean international student at Auburn University, I never expected a brief visit to Ukraine would lead me to start this urgent mission. Today, I watch the city that touched my heart face unimaginable devastation, and I know I must act.

A Race Against Time and Temperature
Imagine facing -4.7°C (23.6°F) temperatures with no heating and broken windows. This isn't a hypothetical – it's the reality for thousands in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, just 18 miles from the Russian border. Due to recent attacks:

  • 3 precious lives were lost and 28 people were injured, including 4 innocent children
  • Over 615 families are sleeping in homes with shattered windows
  • 9,900 civilians were forced to evacuate, with thousands more waiting
  • Critical heating infrastructure lies in ruins as winter approaches

Why Your Help Matters Now More Than Ever
The recent military assessment from ISW (Nov 17, 2024) confirms what we feared: Russian forces are advancing toward Kharkiv. Families face an impossible choice between staying in danger or risking evacuation in freezing temperatures. Every day without action puts more lives at risk.

The Situation is Critical
Recent data from ReliefWeb (October 2024) reveals the stark reality:

  • 40% of Kharkiv residents urgently need heating assistance
  • 23% require immediate window replacements
  • Thousands face both military threats and freezing temperatures

Join Us in Saving Lives
