Winter Park Crew Heads to Henley Royal Regatta

Tax deductible
I am excited to announce that for only the second time in our 60-year history, Winter Park Crew is sending a boat to the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England. Visited by more than 300,000 people each year, the Henley Royal Regatta is the most prestigious regatta in the world and the highlight of the summer rowing calendar and social season in the UK. The first Henley Cup Regatta was held in 1839 and has been held annually ever since. In 2021, the regatta opened a new event for Junior Women’s Eights and starting this year it will be known as The Prince Philip Challenge Trophy. For the first time in its history and in this inaugural year of The Prince Philip Challenge Trophy, Winter Park Crew will send a Junior Women’s Eight to compete.

The boat, known as our V8, will be accompanied by Head Coach Michael Vertullo.

Winter Park Crew has a long history of winning state and national championships, including 38 State Championships. Most recently, our V8 took a gold medal at the American Youth Cup in Sarasota, placing ahead of the reigning national championship club team. These athletes practice 11 months a year, six days a week, while also holding an average GPA of 4.5. This particular boat is giving up six weeks of their summer to train and compete in The Henley Cup Regatta.

Winter Park Crew would appreciate your willingness to donate and share this GoFundMe.
