Winter Park Crew Women Head (Back) to Henley

In July 2022, the Winter Park Crew Women's V8 competed for the first time ever at the Henley Royal Regatta. After clearing a field of 25 boats, the team made it all the way to the final race.
This summer the boat is headed back to compete again. The 9 athletes will be accompanied by Head Coach Michael Vertullo.
The prestigious Henley Royal Regatta is held annually in Henley-on-Thames, England. Visited by more than 300,000 people each year, the Henley Royal Regatta is the most prestigious regatta in the world and the highlight of the summer rowing calendar and social season in the UK. The first Henley Cup Regatta was held in 1839 and has been held annually ever since. In 2021, the regatta opened a new event for Junior Women’s Eights -The Prince Philip Challenge Trophy.
Winter Park Crew has a long history of winning state and national championships, including 40 State Championships. In the 2021-2022 season the V8 was undefeated in the US.
These athletes practice 11 months a year, six days a week, while also holding an average GPA of 4.5. This particular boat is giving up six weeks of its summer to train and compete at the Henley Royal Regatta.
