Winter Storm Warrior

While most have moved past the Texas winter storm our family is still dealing with the effects. On February 17 we woke up to low water pressure and no electricity. Like most we filled up our tub with water. Since we have little ones in the house we made sure to keep the door shut to the bathroom. Unfortunately around midday our 15 month old at the time took a detour from playing with his brothers and found his way into the bathroom where the tub was full of water. Ezera had just got a handle on climbing onto things and we believe he threw one of his toys into the tub of water and climb in to get it. In a span of 5 minutes or less dad(Josh) found Ezera floating face down in our tub. My mom and i immediately started cpr as 911 was called. His little body was pale and lifeless. Frantic to save our son we got in our vehicle and drove to Baylor Scott and white emergency room. I continued to preform cpr until we arrived. Immediately they called a code blue no heart rate on my baby. By the grace of god they brought him back but was on life support. We were transferred to Dell children’s medical center where we have now been for the last three months. Thanks to the nurses support and doctors Ezera has made Miraculous progress . He is now breathing on his own and working to return to the wild child he once was but has sustained a brain injury that no longer allows him to function as he once did. We are told through intense therapies he will gain function back but could be years. As we transition back to home life we need help settling back in. Doctors believe Ezera is in a place to return to home although we will be wheel chair bound and require a fair amount of medical treatment while still at home. I have been unable to work since the accident and Josh has recently returned within the last month. We are asking for help as we get back on our feet. This is our new normal and we ask if you can’t help financially that you share and pray that our sweet boy continues to progress.
