Winton Jr. Baseball

On 7.20.19 thieves broke into and stole thousands of dollars worth of baseball equipment and concession stand food from the Winton Junior Giants youth baseball league storage facility. The thieves took at least 75 baseball/softball gloves and other vital sports equipment. The Winton Junior Giants is a non-competitive, summer baseball & softball program for kids aged 5-18 years. Winton is a small town of field and factory works in Central California, near Merced. Much of the stolen equipment was there for the kids who couldn’t afford their own and the concession stand food was used as a fundraiser for the kid’s yearly trip to watch a San Francisco Giants MLB game. For a lot of these kids, it will be the first time attending an MLB game or getting to visit S.F. The money raised is also used to feed the kids on the trip and at the game. Very sad to hear about a small town youth baseball league getting what little they had taken from them and maybe missing out on what could have been an experience of a lifetime. Let’s come together to help these kids play ball and experience something that so many of us take for granted.
