Wisconsin Nordic is going to Nationals!
Donation protected
Despite a low snow year, Badger Nordic skiers have excelled on the Midwest Collegiate Ski Association racing circuit! Both our men's and women's teams placed third overall in the Collegiate Cup, qualifying us for Nationals in Lake Placid, New York. This is a week-long event with four days of racing. Our skiers are very excited to make this trip and compete against collegiate teams from across the country!
Badger skiers started off the season at the Noquemanon in Marquette, MI. Race highlights include Eleanor Bennett finishing second in the 23k classic race and Katie Milligan-Susong finishing second in the 23k skate. Traveling to Bayfield, WI the following weekend, Wisconsin skiers gained momentum at the 12k skate Mt. Ashwabay Summit. Our men's team placed first and our women's team placed second, with first place individual finishes from Ben Martin and Katie Milligan-Susong. With these promising results, we look forward to competing at the national level!
As a club sport, our team is funded by team dues, fundraising, and donations. With the larger scale of this trip, we're hoping to lower costs for our collegiate athletes. All support from our amazing community is appreciated! Funds will help offset the cost of the following for our skiers:
- Registration fees for four days of speedy racing
- Gas for the road trip to Lake Placid, NY
- Food for our hungry skiers
