Vet bill for Odin, a rescue husky

I recently got Odin , a rescue husky out of a kill shelter and am fostering him until he finds his forever home . He needed to be neutered. I was not prepared for the the huge expense that VCA charged for their neutering , I had a neuter voucher from the city shelter that he was at that was good at select veterinarians and VCA was one of those veterinarians. It ended up being way more than I even imagined and on top of it they didn’t even apply the voucher which was good for only 65 dollars . I definitely should have done my research and had no idea that this kind of rate would apply to any neutering . I wanted to be proactive and get it taken care of asap . The estimate with blood work was 600-800 dollars which they told me when I checked in . I had explained over the phone when I made the appointment that he was a foster and I had him rescued, they said they took the vouchers, cost was never gone over and no transparency whatsoever. The final total, which did not include blood work but did include a chip was 674 dollars. I could have left but I dropped him off right before work and would have been late for work , didn’t have much of an option .I’m just asking for any little bit to go towards this procedure .
