Help fund school extension in Nepal.

Hi All, Namaste!

I have been volunteering at the Heaven Hill and New Marigold Schools in Nepal and I would like to help them not only with my time and skills but also raising some funds to help them with the extension project for the New Marigold school.

I am very impressed with Shamser’s work so far, his vision and leadership. I have been fortunate to experience first hand the positive impact of his work on the children and community during my stay and I plan to stay the next few weeks to continue to support them the best I can.

Shamser has opened four free and non-violent schools in his district, in 2015 and 2022, and those four schools altogether welcome over 450 children from age 3 to 14.

- Free because most families of the district are poor and often cannot pay for their children's education, leading to high drop-out rates. This is why we offer all children school fees, uniforms, books, stationary and meals.

- Non-violent because the educational system in Nepal is still often based on the traditional hitting system, with 80% of Nepali children educated with physical punishment and violent discipline, leading to physical and psychological trauma.

In 2021, he also started to run a school bus, allowing children from remote villages to attend school. All children from the area are welcomed irrespective of their caste and disabilities, and they have expansion ambitions as the demand for the school coming from all the surrounding villages gets bigger every year: this is why he needs our help!

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, they will have a real positive impact to the children's life, education experience and their future.
