With Your Help... Jennifer Can Beat Cancer Again
Donation protected
As a close friend and co-worker of Jennifer Rider Humphrey, I have created this GoFundMe to help support this amazing woman through this very difficult and challenging time. As many of you may know and those who do not yet know, Jennifer has received devastating news that cancer has once again took hold of her body.
Jennifer has been faced with more tragedy and adversity than anyone should have to experience in a lifetime, yet she has overcome it all. She pushes through all obstacles put in front of her and never complains. She is always positive, friendly and willing to help anyone in need and she is immensely dedicated to her loved ones and her work. She is simply the strongest person I have ever met.
Jennifer is our Interior Designer and her work is amazing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 2007. She works tirelessly every day to make our showroom look beautiful and her displays always impress me. She is creative, kind, generous and steadfast. The world is a better place with her in it and no one is more deserving of your help than she.
At the early age of 44, in July of 2013, she was diagnosed with Stage III-B Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in her right breast with Lymphovascular Invasion ER/PR+. With this terrifying news, she underwent bilateral mastectomies and reconstructive surgery. At that time, she also had Chemotherapy treatments from October of that year through December. Unfortunately, she began the new year with Radiation treatments that went well into March. By the grace of God, in April of 2014 she was released and notified that she had gone into Remission. Praise God!
Over the last four years she has struggled with many other medical conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis. Jennifer has never let her personal or health issues get her down. She is the absolute most positive, loving, supportive, caring, thoughtful, giving, and not to mention the strongest person I know. I can’t think of one other person that could have gone through all that she has gone through in her lifetime and still be the amazing person she is today. Having said that, her strength and endurance is being challenged yet again. After four years in remission, she received the most devastating and dreaded news a cancer survivor fears the most…the cancer is back. In October, she was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic cancer with a lesion on her right scapula. If that wasn’t enough, the breast cancer has also returned in her right breast with a 1cm tumor.
Jennifer has an aggressive treatment plan in place and will begin another round of Chemotherapy and Radiation (6 long weeks) at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition of this new treatment plan, she is in the unfortunate state of having to be still paying on her medical bills from her first round as well as her growing medical expenses from treating her Rheumatoid Arthritis. She will also have to miss a lot of work while undergoing treatment.
She is loved and supported by so many, especially her wonderful husband of 11 years and her lovely daughters Larissa (age 20) and Cheyenne (age 11). As she and her family face this very challenging and difficult time we ask that you please donate to help with her ever growing medical expenses so she may have the necessary treatments to save and improve her quality of life. If you are unable to donate, we would very much appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers for Jennifer and her family. We also ask that you share this link with your friends and family.
On behalf of the Humphrey family, we thank you. Your donations, continued thoughts and prayers are most appreciated. We will keep you posted on her progress.
