Wixom Lake Flood Help

As many of you know, last week, heavy rains caused Wixom Lake to flood, and the subsequently drain when the dam failed.  Like countless others, Debbie and Dwight Newport's cottage - their happy place where so many memories were made over the past 15+ years - flooded. 

While initially, the damage was only thought to be to the flooring, this weekend, it became clear that the entire house is not salvageable due to the extensive water damage.  

Unfortunately, because they were not in a "flood zone", they were not covered by flood insurance, and therefore everything must be rebuilt and replaced with no help from insurance. 

The Newport kids have created this GoFundMe to help - if you know the Newports, you know they are the first to help others without question, and we wanted a way to help them beyond what we could do.

We know the goal is lofty, we know times are tough, and there isn't always room to give right now - but if you know them and want to help, every little bit counts.   And if you aren't able to donate, a share will help our cause, too. 

Our hope is that we are able to raise enough to also help others that are weathering the same storm as they are, and help them get back on their feet.
