Funeral Expenses for Billy Brislin
Donation protected
William "Billy" W. Brislin III, died unexpectedly, due to complications from his treatment of melanoma, in his home in Williston, VT at the age of 48. Billy was born on June 14, 1967 in Burlington, VT to William and Patricia Ward Brislin. He graduated from Rutland High School in 1985 and then served two years in the United States Army stationed in Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1991 with a B.S. in Education. He briefly worked as a postal worker before following his dreams of becoming a police officer. He served as a police officer with the Burlington Police Department acquiring ten years of service with that department. He volunteered as an International Police Advisor in Iraq, serving from April 2006 to April 2008, advising and training the Iraqi Police Service.
He was later hired by the Barre City Police Department as a Patrol officer in October 2008 and served there until diagnosed with Melanoma in September 2013. Due to the aggressiveness of the illness Billy was unable to return to police work as he continued his battle with the disease. His fight against this disease continued until his death on October 22, 2015. The financial burden placed on Billy and his loved ones was tremendous. Consequently, we are requesting assistance to help the family with the cost of medical and funeral expenses.
