If you have ever met Maizie and Travis you know they are the most caring, supportive and generous couple. They have always been there for their family, friends and acquaintances in their time of need and now it's our turn to be there for them.
On December 23rd 2020 their lives changed forever. Just one day before Christmas celebrations, Maizie collapsed in her driveway and went into cardiac arrest. Travis performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. At just 41 years old, it's surreal and unimaginable that this happened to a healthy, vibrant woman.
Maizie was put into an induced coma and spent several weeks in the ICU. Despite the lack of oxygen for an extended period of time, Maizie continues to make incredible improvements with her loving husband, father, brother and sister by her side. After only six weeks, she is out of the ICU and has been trying her best to speak and move. Only time, rehabilitation and loving support will guide her road to recovery.
Now that Maizie's body is stabilizing she is getting ready to leave the hospital. Unfortunately, according to her doctors, she does not meet the criteria to qualify for a neurological rehabilitation center. Travis and his family have decided the best plan for Maizie is to bring her home. In order to do so there must be home renovations and healthcare assistance provided. With home care and extensive rehabilitation, we truly believe Maizie will improve and eventually meet the doctors criteria to be re-evaluated and be admitted into the rehabilitation center, or just carry on with the best quality of life possible.
A combination of new neurological therapies, physical therapies, occupational therapy, along with new world alternative methods will give Maizie the fighting chance she deserves. In order for this to happen, we need your help.
