6 years ago I walked into a Martial Arts gym with the determination to learn self defense and find a place to belong.
I walked into this Martial Arts gym after years of being mentally abused and having my confidence and inner strength be taken from me. I soon wondered how long would it take for the damaged walls and items to become my face or body.
I was lucky to find the strength and have the support to remove myself from that situation.
In doing so, I found Muay Thai and fell in love instantly. It has taught me what I am truly capable of and shown me that I am strong. The list is endless on how much this sport has changed my life.
I hope my journey in this Art can help inspire and empower people to find their inner strength, especially those that have been in similar situations as myself.
Also, to be involved in paving the way for the younger female generations that finally have this sport, and other combat sports, as an option for their future.
I now train 6 days a week, 3-4 hours a day on top of a Full Time heavy labour trades job, in pursuit of becoming a Professional Athlete.
After competing at Nationals this past July, I was selected to join Team Canada and compete at The World Games in Poland from October 9-13, 2019.
This is an absolute dream come true and a massive opportunity that cannot be missed.
Although, given 7 weeks notice is not a lot of time to comfortably save the funds to attend which is the biggest set back of competing as a Amateur Athlete.
I'm hoping to be able to raise enough funds to attend The World Games and set myself closer to my Goal of a Professional Athlete. Any support is incredibly appreciated, I am truly thankful in advance to all the positive people I am surrounded by on a daily basis.
